Three Tom Cruise films are each delayed, with the new Top Gun and Mission: Impossible films now arriving later than planned.

As part of a reshuffle of its release slate, Paramount Pictures has announced further details to its upcoming collection of Tom Cruise films.

Firstly, Top Gun: Maverick will now not be with us this summer, which was the most recent plan for the feature. That’s now gone back to November 19th of this year. This in turn has had a knock-on effect for the next two Mission: Impossible movies. Mission: Impossible 7 now moves from November 2021 to May 27th 2022, and Mission: Impossible 8 has gone from November 2022 to July 2023.

To partly offset this, the new G.I. Joe movie, Snake Eyes, will be moving in the other direction. That’d been due to land this coming October, but has bumped forward to July 23rd 2021.

Separately, the studio has also confirmed that the Dungeons & Dragons movie has been pushed back a year to March 3rd 2023, and that Kenneth Branagh’s Bee Gees film will be with us in November 2022.

More on all of these as we hear it. Hopefully, stories of films being pushed back like this are coming to an end…
