Fights! Road trips! Bonding! Toxic masculinity and more will be explored in Max Winkler’s upcoming Jungleland, amidst fisticuffs it seems.

The trailer has landed for Jungleland, a bare-knuckle brawling drama starring Charlie Hunnam and Jack O’Connell. The movie focuses on two brothers who are trying to navigate their way upwards in the bare-knuckle fighting circuit, before a series of trials test the bonds of their relationship.

Not to be confused with the UK film of the same name by the West Midlands filmmaker Waheed Iqbal, this one is an American production. Jessica Barden and John Cullum also star. Director Max Winkler has called the project his ‘ten year passion project’ whilst citing a desire to give the film a 1970s film.

Hunnam in particular, has come in for praise in early reviews when the film debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival.

It is set for a limited cinema release and then a VoD release on the 10th November in the US. When we have firm UK release details, we’ll let you know. In the meantime, check out the trailer below.
