Universal has released the first trailer for the upcoming Jurassic World: Dominion, ahead of its release this summer.

Despite running relatively smoothly, a delay of a full year for Colin Trevorrow’s Jurassic World: Dominion was announced back in 2020, giving the production’s sizeable post-production process plenty of space and also meaning it avoided 2021’s summer, which was cluttered with blockbuster releases.

As such, even though we’ve been hearing about the film for what seems like a long time, it’s still nearly half a year away from release. But, Universal has continued to buoy interest in the movie. Firstly, by releasing the first five minutes back in November, and now with the film’s first trailer.

Dominion is the third entry in the Jurassic World series (and the sixth in the overall Jurassic Park saga) and will see three of the core players from the original 1993 Jurassic Park film – Laura Dern, Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum – unite with Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. The ending of the previous film set up this one, and it’s a shame we’re having to wait so long to find out what happens.

Still, this will tide us over for a little longer, at least. Hopefully, there won’t be any suspect shenanigans at work this time, with the trailer for Dominion's predecessor, 2018’s Fallen Kingdom, memorably being a bit misleading with regards to the amount of Jeff Goldblum we thought we’d be getting for our money. Anyway, the film is set to release on June 10th, 2022. You can catch the trailer below.
