Puss in Boots is coming back to cinema screens, and you can catch your first glimpse of the daring feline’s return right here.
The trailer has landed for the Puss In Boots sequel that’s arriving a decade after the original. The character, voiced by the mighty Antonio Banderas in the films, hasn’t lain dormant for all of that time however. As you’d expect from such a daring, quick-witted hero, Puss in Boots has popped up here and there, enjoying appearing in a long-running Netflix show, not to mention a direct-to-DVD short film. All of this since 2011, when his first feature-length adventure released.
Yep, there’s no keeping a good cat down, and now Puss has returned to claim his place on the big screen. Alongside Banderas, Penelope Cruz returns as Kitty Soft Paws. The duo will be joined by Harvey Guillén as Perro, as Pup, Florence Pugh as Goldilocks, and Wagner Moura as The Big Bad Wolf.
The film is set to release in October of this year. In the meantime, here’s the official synopsis below, as well as the trailer of course.
For the first time in more than a decade, DreamWorks Animation presents a new adventure in the Shrek universe as daring outlaw Puss in Boots discovers that his passion for peril and disregard for safety have taken their toll. Puss has burned through eight of his nine lives, though he lost count along the way. Getting those lives back will send Puss in Boots on his grandest quest yet.
