The Cannes entrant Bergman Island drops its trailer, ahead of its upcoming festival premiere in Cannes.

Bergman Island is an upcoming drama from director Mia Hansen-Løve. The movie’s plot follows ‘a filmmaking couple go to the island where Ingmar Bergman was inspired and find that the lines between reality and fiction star to blur.’

Whilst the film promises to be a homage in some respects to both Bergman and one of the key locations that shaped his films, it’s the potential for reality and fiction blurring that has us interested.

Although the film was originally set to star John Turturro and Greta Gerwig, before scheduling conflicts shook things up, the final cast is still impressive. Mia Wasikowska, Vicky Krieps, Tim Roth, Anders Danielsen Lie, Joel Spira and Clara Strauch are all in the ensemble.

The film is set to debut at Cannes next month ahead of a wider release, but in the meantime, take a look at the trailer right here.
