The reality-blurring thriller Black Bear, featuring Aubrey Plaza, looks just to be just the right kind of strange – here’s the trailer.

A trailer has arrived for Black Bear, a terrific-looking thriller that looks to blur the likes between film and reality.

This one stars Aubrey Plaza, Sarah Gadon and Christopher Abbott. In it, Plaza plays an actor/writer/director who travels out to a remote guest house in the woods to work on her next project, which is proving difficult to bring to life. Whilst there, her relationship with the couple who run the establishment becomes, well, let’s just call it complicated. It appears as if her reality and the fictional nature of her work begin to merge, with all sorts of strangeness and conflict ensuing.

Plaza of course, is always great value for money and especially good in roles like Ingrid Goes West  where her presence upsets the  delicate equilibrium of other characters’ relationships. This particular film, directed by Lawrence Michael Levine (Wild Canaries), debuted to very good reviews at Sundance and is set for a December release on digital VoD in the US.

No word yet on a UK release, but that’s sure to follow soon and we’ll let you know when it does. In the meantime, check out the trailer below.
