The upcoming coming-of-age movie It Takes Three promises the classic teen romance tale with a very modern twist.

Coming to cinemas soon is It Takes Three, a US indie teen romance with a very modern conceit at its heart.

When The Duff’s David Gridley, who plays the classic alpha male teen, falls for deep, arty Aurora Perrineau, she wants nothing to do with the shallow, self-absorbed jock. To win the girl of his dreams, Gridley enlists the school nerd, played by Moonrise Kingdom‘s Jared Gilman to be his online presence, effectively changing his identity to become an impresario of all things cultural.

It’s a modern twist on a class rom-com conceit and the trailer promises an interesting take on all of the usual teen romance genre conventions. We really enjoyed the preview for this one. A UK release is coming, although not via Sky as we originally thought. More details as we get them. In the meantime, the trailer…
