Trailer lands for influencer horror flick, Funhouse

There’s some serious Big Brother overtones going on in the visually lavish trailer for Funhouse – get your first glimpse here.

Films that skewer influencer culture are nothing new, from the brilliant satire of Ingrid Goes West to the nasty thrills of Spree. However, the upcoming film Funhouse looks to be the darkest take on the subject yet, gathering a gaggle of influencers into one Big Brother-style house before gleefully seeing them stalked and murdered one by one in stylishly violent ways. It also has a rather intimidating-looking panda bear too.

The film’s director is Jason William Lee (The Evil In Us), and whilst there’s no official UK release date as yet, the film is making its bow at the end of May in the US. Hopefully it won’t take long to get here.

Here’s the official synopsis then…

In Funhouse, a down-and-out backup singer and celebrity ex-husband Kasper is invited to compete in the Funhouse. This online ‘Big Brother’ style reality show offers him a chance to rebrand his image and tarnished reputation. Kasper reluctantly accepts the offer and, alng with seven other C-list celebrities, he will compete for the $5 million prize. At first, this all seems just as the name suggests, full of wild times, budding friendships, love connections and brewing rivalries. To the surprise of everyone involved, the fun quickly turns into misery when the first challenge leaves one of the contestants brutally murdered.
