Delayed from earlier in the year, here’s the trailer for the upcoming Promising Young Woman, with Carey Mulligan in the lead role.

A fresh trailer has arrived to herald the release date for Promising Young Woman, a rather dark-looking comic thriller featuring Carey Mulligan, Alison Brie, Connie Britton, Bo Burnham, Max Greenfield and Christopher Mintz-Plasse.

The film marks the debut feature of British writer-director Emerald Fennell. Mulligan plays the title character, a once-promising young woman who left law school and a life full of potential because of the inadequate way her claims of sexual assault were dealt with.

Now, she is a barista by day, but by night she spends her time seeking to heal from past traumas by hunting down and brutally destroying men who would take advantage of women.

Focus Features and Universal are handling distribution, and the film has been given a December release date in the US. No definite news on the UK release yet but it’s expected before the end of the year. In the meantime, check out the trailer below.
