The Sam Raimi-produced supernatural horror The Unholy, has dropped a trailer ahead of its US release on April 2nd. Directed by Evan Spiliotopoulos in his feature debut, the film is based on a James Herbert novel which ‘follows a young hearing-impaired girl inexplicably able to hear, speak and heal the sick after a vision of the Virgin Mary. A disgraced journalist investigates and soon terrifying events begin to happen all around.’
Jeffrey Dean Morgan stars as the journalist whilst William Sadler also features. Sony is handling distribution. Although the film may be Spiliotopoulos’ feature helming debut, he has a list of impressive writing credits to his name and has written the screenplay for The Unholy, (formerly titled Shrine) as well as directing the film.
No UK release date has yet been confirmed for the film, but we’ll keep you posted, In the meantime you can catch the trailer below.
