Rebecca Hall stars in upcoming horror film The Night House from Searchlight Pictures – and here’s the trailer.

David Bruckner, director of Southbound and The Ritual, is returning with another haunting tale, this time in collaboration with the brilliant Rebecca Hall. The film in question is The Night House, a chilling horror set to release in July.

The synopsis for the film reads: ‘Reeling from the unexpected death of her husband, Beth (Rebecca Hall) is left alone in the lakeside home he built for her. She tries as best she can to keep together—but then the dreams come. Disturbing visions of a presence in the house call to her, beckoning with a ghostly allure, but the harsh light of day washes away any proof of a haunting. Against the advice of her friends, she begins digging into his belongings, yearning for answers. What she finds are secrets both strange and terrible and a mystery she’s determined to resolve.’

Early reviews for the film are strong and Searchlight acquired the movie after a strong showing at Sundance last year.

The trailer certainly seems to suggest some interesting and fresh ideas for the horror genre, but we’ll let you be the judge of that by checking it out below, ahead of the film’s summer release.
