Witches? The Black Death? The devil himself? It’s all happening in Neil Marshall’s latest film – and here’s the trailer for it.

Dog Soldiers and The Descent director Neil Marshall, has a new horror film launching soon and the trailer for it is certainly looking promising. The Reckoning is set in plague-ridden England, against the morbid and grim backdrop of The Black Death. Charlotte Kirk plays a young wife, who after losing her husband to the plague, is accused of witchcraft, and imprisoned for trial.

You even get some Sean Pertwee for your money too, as Judge Moorcroft, England’s most tyrannical witch-hunter.

The film launches in February on VoD, and although Marshall hasn’t made a horror film of this ilk for some time, having been working in TV for a while now, his pedigree in this genre is assured. You can catch the trailer below, ahead of the film’s release next month.

More on the movie as we hear it.
