Get your first look at a new WWII-era courtroom drama where Al Pacino defends his client against treason charges: the trailer is here.

We haven’t seen Al Pacino on screen since his 2019 Oscar-nominated turn in The Irishman. The screen legend returns next month though, in American Traitor, a World War II-era courtroom drama that also stars Meadow Williams (Den of Thieves) and Thomas Kretschmann, who has recently been cast in the upcoming Indiana Jones 5.

The trailer certainly looks intriguing with a hint that we may see a ‘full Pacino’ at some point as tensions rise and things get a bit shouty. The film is set to release in the US on May 28th, both theatrically and on-demand. No UK release details have been confirmed yet.

Here’s the trailer…

And we’ll leave you with the film’s synopsis…

Based on the true story, AMERICAN TRAITOR: THE TRIAL OF AXIS SALLY follows the life of American woman Mildred Gillars (Meadow Williams) and her lawyer (Al Pacino), who struggles to redeem her reputation. Dubbed “Axis Sally” for broadcasting Nazi propaganda to American troops during World War II, Mildred’s story exposes the dark underbelly of the Third Reich’s hate-filled propaganda machine, her eventual capture in Berlin, and subsequent trial for treason against the United States after the war
