The Korean War drama Devotion features Loki's Jonathan Majors and Top Gun: Maverick's Glen Powell.

Whilst Hollywood loves pushing out war movies, one conflict that is often overlooked is the Korean War. In fact Dale Dye, military advisor on war films going all the way back to 1986’s Platoon, once told Film Stories magazine (back in issue 25) that he thought the war lacked the global appeal that other conflicts involving America might have. Of course, with the war being less charted in cinematic form, that means that there’s plenty to explore onscreen and Devotion, a new aerial drama promises to do just that.

Starring Jonathan Majors, star of Lovecraft County, Loki and the upcoming Creed III, alongside Glen Powell who is currently zooming around the skies opposite Tom Cruise in the brilliant Top Gun: Maverick (you can catch our interview with the director, Joseph Kosinski here), the film is based on based on Adam Makos’ novel and ‘tells the harrowing true story of two elite US Navy fighter pilots during the Korean War. Their heroic sacrifices would ultimately make them the Navy’s most celebrated wingmen.’

The film is currently scheduled for an October 14th theatrical release and wider VOD launch on October 28th. However, that’s the US launch window and no UK details are yet available, although we’d imagine it will pop up somewhere around that time, perhaps on a streaming platform. Until then, you can catch the trailer below.
