Nicolas Cage playing a fictionalised version of Nicolas Cage, spying for the FBI to take down a crime boss? Where do we sign up?.

The trailer has arrived for The Unbearable Weight Of Massive Talent which is set to release in April, starring Nicolas Cage as an actor who accepts $1 million to attend the birthday party of a super fan (who also happens to be a criminal kingpin) played by Pedro Pascal. He then starts re-enacting many of his famous roles for said fan. If it all sounds like incredible fun in a meta-textual type of way, then you’ll want to check out the trailer below

Tiffany Haddish is joining the action too, along with Neil Patrick Harris. It’s certainly a fun cast and that’s before you even consider the joy that is sure to be Nicolas Cage wildly lampooning himself and revisiting the many roles he’s played in a long and varied career.

The film was written and directed by Tom Gornican (That Awkward Moment) and arrives at a point where Cage is again undergoing something of a career revival, having recently been announced as the next Dracula in Renfield, an upcoming Universal movie that follows the bloodsucker’s relationship with his loyal henchman of the same name.

You’ll be able to catch The Unbearable Weight Of Massive Talent in April, but until then, feast your eyes on the trailer below…
