Paul Thomas Anderson’s long-awaited next film – Licorice Pizza – will soon be here, and the trailer has landed.

The trailer has been unveiled for Paul Thomas Anderson’s ninth film, Licorice Pizza. You might have guessed that by the headline of this article though. Nonetheless, we press on.

The project, which has suffered delays en route to the screen, will finally be with us by the end of the year, it seems. The helmer of Magnolia and The Master has forged a reputation not only for rich, powerful dramas, but for also coaxing incredible performances from his actors. With shutdowns affecting his latest project, a 1970s coming of age tale set in the San Fernando Valley (a fertile setting for Anderson, who has based several of his films there), it seems to have taken ages for us to get to the point where we know anything about this one.

Wheels though, have been turning. The project itself now moved from Focus Features to MGM earlier this year and the film itself follows a high school kid, played by Cooper Hoffman, son of the late, great Philip Seymour Hoffman stars, along with an ensemble cast that features Bradley Cooper, Benny Safdie and Alana Haim. No release date is yet set for the UK but we should see it this side of the year. Until then, check out the trailer below.
