The single location thriller The Immaculate Room takes self isolating to a whole different level: here’s the trailer.

Since 2020, there have been a flurry of films about either pandemics or isolation. From Doug Liman’s Locked Down to Judd Apatow’s The Bubble, filmmakers have attempted to dissect and discern different reactions to such a cataclysmic event.

The Immaculate Room is set to be a study in the effects of self isolation and lockdown, which takes the form of a social experiment. Mike and Kate decide to take on the challenge – fifty days inside a whole box. No communication. No outside world. Only a robotic voice to keep them company. If they manage it, they get fifty million dollars. But, as is always the way with these things, events spiral out of control quickly. From an unexpected female guest to a gun they find in the bathroom, they must use all of their mental agility if they are to fight their way to the finish.

Kate Bosworth and Emile Hirsch headline the film as Mike and Kate, reuniting after starring together in 2020’s Forces Of Nature. Ashley Greene plays the mysterious stranger.

The film is written and directed by Mukunda Michael Dewil, who previously helmed the Paul Walker action thriller Vehicle 19.

The Immaculate Room will be released in the US on the 19th August, with a UK release date yet to be announced. Watch the trailer below:
