The story of the Sony PlayStation console is the subject of a brand new documentary, and the trailer for it can be found right here.

Filmmakers Anthony and Nicola Caulfield have emerged as documentarians of the videogame era, with the films From Bedroom To Billions (which told the story of the UK computer game scene of the 1980s) and From Bedroom To Billions: The Amiga Years! (which picked up the story, following the mighty Commodore Amiga).

Now the pair have turned their attention to the Sony PlayStation for their latest film, From Bedroom To Billions: The PlayStation Revolution. It digs into the origins of the games console, speaking to many people in and round its success. And the film is set for release on September 7th.

What’s more, here’s a trailer for the movie, to give you a flavour as to what’s in store…

The synopsis reads as follows…

FROM BEDROOMS TO BILLIONS: THE PLAYSTATION REVOLUTION is the definitive story of how PlayStation took #gaming to the next level: from the iconic T-Rex demo to the cultural behemoth that it is today.
