Train To Busan is getting the Hollywood treatment, as Timo Tjahjanto signs up to direct a remake of the South Korean hit.

Chums, if you haven’t seen the superb South Korean movie Train To Busan, please take this as a huge recommendation. On the surface, it’s a film about zombies and a train. In truth, it is in part about zombies and a train. But there’s so much more to it that I don’t want to spoil. It’s genuinely a fabulous piece of cinema.

Hollywood certainly took notice of it, with New Line picking up the rights for an English-language remake of Sang-Ho Yeon’s original. And now we learn that it’s taken a step forward, with the news that Timo Tjahjanto is in talks to direct the movie.

He’s previously helmed Headshot and The Night Comes For Us, amongst others. Gary Dauberman is on scripting duties for the movie, and amongst its producers is James Wan too.

No word yet as to when the movie will land, but we’ll keep you posted. Please do seek out that original though. What a film…
