Trolls World Tour confirmed for disc release in July

After its controversial video on demand release, Trolls World Tour is now heading to DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD this coming July.

After finding itself at the centre of a row about the future of cinema distribution, the sequel Trolls World Tour is now heading to disc formats.

The movie, of course, was released immediately to premium video on demand, requiring a £15.99 rental fee to watch the film. This was because Universal opted not to delay the film’s planned cinema release, and instead release the movie straight to demand services, a model it claims has been highly successful.

The disc version will arrive in July in the UK, with two versions of the movie: the theatrical cut (if we can call it that!) and a special Dance Party Edition, “where viewers are introduced to dance moves to learn while they watch the film, lyrics to sing along, and surprises featuring their favourite characters”.

The film will be available on DVD, Blu-ray and Ultra HD 4K Blu-ray in the UK from 27^th July, and is heading to regularly priced on demand services from 13^th July. You can find the listing for it here.
