Disney+ is looking to bring Turner & Hooch back to life.

Disney continues to dig through all the new assets it owns as a consequence of its takeover of 20th Century Fox – but it’s also having a good comb through its own archive too. As such, whilst we know that the Fox Home Alone franchise is set to provide fodder for the Disney+ streaming service, we now learn that Turner & Hooch is on the way too.

We covered the 1989 film in a podcast last year – and you can listen to that here – and the plan now is for a reimagining of the Tom Hanks and a dog movie for the Disney+ service.

This one is being turned into a TV series now, with Matt Nix – Burn Notice – set to oversee the see and write it. No casting news has thus far been announced, and it’s unlikely that either Turner or Hooch will be stepping back onto the big screen. We do know that the series will be going before the cameras from April, with shooting set for Vancouver. No word yet on casting.

More news as we hear it…
