The belated sequel to Twins is moving ahead, with Tracy Morgan set to start instead of Eddie Murphy, as originally planned.

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito will team up with 30 Rock's Tracy Morgan for Triplets, the belated sequel to their 1988 comedy, Twins. It’s a project that’s been swimming around for so long we’d pretty much assume it wasn’t happening. Yet here we are.

The role that Morgan is taking on was originally intended for Eddie Murphy, but the actor was forced to drop out due to scheduling conflicts. Morgan comes in instead, with his material being completely re-written to match his own comic style.

Triplets is now set to shoot in Boston in January, with the title indicating that twin brothers – DeVito and Schwarzenegger – find that they have a third twin, Morgan’s character. Ivan Reitman is returning to direct too.

The film reportedly isn’t sold yet, but producers are optimistic some sizzle reel footage will find the project a backer at this week’s Toronto International Film Festival. More on this one as we hear it.
