The cast for the untitled fifth film in the franchise has been further rounded out, with Boyd Holbrook and Shaunette Renee Wilson signing up.

Two new names have been added to the cast of the upcoming Indiana Jones 5.

Boyd Holbrook, best known for his work in the first couple of seasons of the popular Netflix cartel drama, Narcos, has been added to the cast. Holbrook also took the lead role in 2018’s The Predator and featured as the foil to Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine in Logan, directed by James Mangold who is helming the fifth instalment in the Indiana Jones franchise.

Also added to the cast is Shaunette Renee Wilson, who has featured in Billions, The Resident and Black Panther. The pair join a rather exciting roster comprising of Thomas Kretschmann, Mads Mikkelsen, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and of course, Harrison Ford.

With the Indy films themselves based upon 1930s pulp adventure stories, the characters in the franchise have always been based upon simple archetypes, so with the main casting seemingly in place, we can begin to speculate which actors will be playing which types of roles. It’s being reported that the film will partly take place in New York in the 1960s, thanks to a tweet from James Mangold. We’ll have to wait until next summer to find out for sure though, with the film set to release in July of next year.
