With its release just weeks away, there’s fresh speculation that Warner Bros will delay Wonder Woman 84 again – and possibly Dune as well.

UPDATE: This is now confirmed. Wonder Woman 84 will arrive on December 25th in the US. Expect the UK release more likely on December 26th.

Whilst Christopher Nolan’s Tenet has succeeded to a point in tempting people back into cinemas over the past few weeks, the numbers nonetheless appear to be given Warner Bros some concern. The studio had spent at least $200m on Nolan’s movie, and the returns are inevitably down on what it would have expected when it gave the project the greenlight.

As such, with cinemas in major US territories still not open too, the studio is now believed to be considering delays to some of its other big releases too. And it looks as though next in line will be Wonder Woman 84.

The superhero sequel starring Gal Gadot has already been put back twice, and currently sits with an October 2nd release date. A new report over at Deadline, however, suggests that date is decreasingly likely to hold, with Warner Bros believed to be considering a move to November. A delay to Dune, for which the trailer was released yesterday, is not off the cards either.

There remain a lot of ifs and buts here, not least that it’ll in part depend on whether Marvel holds its current late October (in the UK) release date for Black Widow. But it sounds as though there are further blockbuster delays looking more likely than not at the moment, and we’ll keep you posted as we hear more about them.
