Warner Bros shoots down rumours that Wonder Woman 84 is the next big movie to go straight to premium video on demand.

Towards the end of last week, rumours sprung up that Warner Bros was considering releasing the upcoming Wonder Woman 84 straight to premium video on demand services. At the moment, the film is the next big blockbuster to still be on the calendar, due to arrive at the start of June. It nonetheless feels inevitable that it’ll be delayed as a lockdown around the world continues. But still, it’d be the biggest film by distance to skip a theatrical release had Warner Bros opted to push it in that direction.

Well, this is one rumour that the studio has been quick to shoot down. It confirmed to IndieWire that the movie will get a full theatrical run before its home release, although obviously quite when that’ll be remains up for discussion.

As things stand, the film retains a June 5th release date, then. But even if cinemas are actually open by then, quite how the logistics of the publicity tour for the movie will work out is a challenge in itself.

More as we hear it.
