Gerard Butler’s new film has quickly been snapped up for distribution – more details on Chase right here.

Gerard Butler’s latest action thriller – Chase – has wrapped filming and found itself an international distributor before the movie has even completed post-production. Voltage Pictures has snapped up the international rights for the film, and are reportedly looking to fast-track the film onto screens, which certainly sounds promising. Butler features in the film alongside the Marvel cinematic universe’s Jaime Alexander and First Man's Ethan Embrey. Chase is directed by Brian Goodman.

The synopsis reads: Chase centres on Will Spann (Butler), who is driving his soon-to-be ex-wife Lisa (Alexander) to her parents’ home when she mysteriously disappears without a trace during a stop at a gas station.A frantic Will engages the local police and Lisa’s parents in a desperate attempt to find her, but as time passes and suspicion falls on him, he must take matters into his own hands, delving into the town’s criminal underbelly while running from the authorities in a race against time to find Lisa.

Which all sounds a bit like Breakdown to us.

Up next for Butler may be his doomed plane movie, The Plane, which we heard a while ago was set to shoot around this time.  The plot of that one is set to centre on Butler starring as ‘a commercial pilot who, after a heroic job of successfully landing his storm-damaged aircraft in a war zone, finds himself caught between the agendas of multiple militias who are planning to take the plane and its passengers hostage.

He’s also got Greenland 2 to fit in next year.

Whatever Butler wants to make next, you can be sure we’ll want to see it. We’ll keep you updated on both films as we hear more.
